HISTORY1872 Since the company was founded the Tyler name has been synonymous with quality. The company’s first products were diamond mesh enclosures surrounding the early “elevator” - a mobile platform with an entrance at every floor of the building.
1900 Tyler offers car doors with door finishes in solid colors
1927 The company expands to include an area of more than ten acres with a total production area of 90.000 sq.m. Tyler produces every item required for its cars and entrance systems, and more than 50 skilled craftsman are represented in the design and manufacture of Tyler products.
1958 The first Tyler glass car is built for the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco. It is installed on the sheer exterior wall of the Fairmont. The car is decorated with ornate bronze castings and it is one of the most elegant ever produced
1969 Tyler comprises of an Elevator Division and a screening Division. It is then merged with the much larger Combustion Engineering Inc.
1977 Combustion Engineering sells the Elevator Division assets to Kleco Corporation; at the time it was considered two diverse products to fit into the companies long term objectives.
1985 Tyler moves from its multi-store, multi-building location in Cleveland to its present location.
2000 Sematic takes over Tyler Elevator Products from Kleco Corporation.
2007 Tyler excels in North America by a deep restructuring and modernization process. Brand new metal working equipment and high tech powder coat line compliments the manufacturing of complete elevator entrances to further gain a competitive pricing edge. |
